This collection contains documents from the First United Methodist Church of Abilene, formerly known as the Methodist Episcopal Church of Abilene. The church is still active as of this writing (2018).

This collection contains one photograph of Rev. Charles Atherton, who served the Methodist Episcopal Church during the latter half of the 1800s. Thirty-six of those years were in the Kansas Conference.

The single folder in this collection contains one piece of paper. It is a tranfer from the Kansas to the South Kansas Conference. There are also sound recordings associated with this collection, but their content is unknown.

This series contains the handwritten correspondence and journals of Milton Mars Haun, a circuit preacher who came to Kansas in 1857. He served in the Kansas, South Kansas, and Southwest Kansas conferences and preached the first sermon in Newton, Kansas in a saloon. In total, Haun served 15 churches in Kansas and died in 1902.
